Frequently asked questions.
What is Jungian Coaching?
This approach draws on the work of psychologist Carl Jung, by illuminating the unconscious mind and bringing it into consciousness.. The unconscious holds a wealth of creative potential and merging it into our conscious mind we become more whole and can access the freedom to truly create our lives. As well, this coaching blends elements of Eastern spirituality.
What is the unconscious mind?
The unconscious which contains the shadow, by definition is hidden. Beginning at a very young age, we discovered behaviors and ways of being that were not beneficial to survive in our environment, We suppressed these parts of ourselves and hid them away from ourselves and others. There is a tendency to think of the shadow as being “dark.” However, it also contains qualities we think of as “light.” Qualities such as being creative, courageous, or carefree.
How does this method access the unconscious?
You will be guided through a variety of techniques using emotional triggers, visualizations, dreams, active imagination, archetypes, and meditations to access the unconscious.
How is Jungian Coaching different than other models of coaching?
Jungian coaching goes in depth to the root of why our lives are a certain way. We go beyond the surface and tap into the creative potentialities and energies of the unconscious. We do not “move the furniture around”, or try hard to disappear, change or improve our behaviors, habits, or ways of being. The process is more of an unfolding of potentialities. This coaching may seem counter-intuitive, because we move toward those aspects of ourselves that feel uncomfortable or even unbearable, and in doing so we can free ourselves to live consciously, creatively and with the joy of being fully at the helm of our lives. This method allows for the space of Profound Self-Acceptance to arise.
